Marbella
An icon of luxury on the Costa del Sol
Where the sun sets the tone
Marbella blends Mediterranean comfort with a touch of refined glamour, yet still feels surprisingly calm and homely. Thanks to its microclimate shaped by the Sierra Blanca mountains, the city enjoys warm, dry weather and over 300 days of sunshine. Mornings in the marina, afternoons in the Old Town and evening strolls along the beach are part of the everyday rhythm, no matter the season. Life here flows in a mix of cosmopolitan energy and laid-back coastal ease.
Foodie heaven
Marbella’s culinary scene is packed with variety — from beach-club dining to innovative modern concepts and tiny tapas bars where locals gather. Fresh fish, Andalusian olives, quality jamón and beautifully prepared seafood are a given. The city boasts several Michelin-starred restaurants, but you’ll also find charming family places serving boquerones, sardine espeto or creamy salmorejo. Dinners by the sea are especially magical, with the water shimmering like gold and the mountains forming a dramatic backdrop.
Golf, golf, golf
Marbella is one of Europe’s premier golf capitals. With more than 20 courses in the surrounding area, every player can find a perfect match — historic, prestigious, modern, technical or simply relaxing. Sunshine, scenery and the proximity of the sea make the experience exceptional. And golf is just the beginning — the coastline invites paddleboarding and water sports, the Golden Mile is ideal for running, and the Sierra Blanca offers fantastic mountain hikes. An active lifestyle comes naturally here.
Culture intertwined with nature
Just a short drive from the coast takes you into tranquil landscapes, mountain trails and pine forests with sweeping sea views. The city itself is full of cultural life — concerts, galleries, design events, traditional Andalusian festivities and local celebrations. The Old Town (Casco Antiguo) is enchanting, with whitewashed houses, orange trees, the cosy Plaza de los Naranjos and the scent of jasmine lingering in the evening air.
A colourful history meets modern style
Although Marbella is best known for its modern lifestyle, its past is rich. Roman baths, Moorish walls in the Old Town and archaeological remains show that people have lived here for thousands of years. In the centre you’ll find the Iglesia de la Encarnación, small museums and narrow streets that have preserved their original Andalusian charm. History is visible everywhere, with plenty of hidden corners waiting to be discovered.
